It looks like the volunteers who went down to Palewell Common and Fields achieved some tremendous planting. Save the next date for your diary, 2nd December at 10am as they really could do with some more volunteers to help.

A little run down of the Volunteering with Nature’s Gym on Tuesday 21st October past by David the Chairman of ‘The Friends of Palewell Common & Fields’

The weather was kind to us and we had a good turn out – Angela and me from the committee, John Blundell and Paul Kenny from the membership and Gina brought along a volunteer Robert from Twickenham and an intern working with Glendale for three months.

The intern was an ecology graduate and wanted to get into paid employment in environmental work – but lacked experience.

We started with bulb planting in the area around the old pond with 200 bulbs provided by the Council.  The aim was to help fill in the spaces where the daffodils hadn’t grown – so hopefully we will have an even more…
