The Friends of Richmond Park run frequent guided walks and courses all free of charge, however some are only for members, others to everyone.

  • 2 August, 2014:Guided walk from Kingston Gate car park (open to everyone)

  • 6 September, 2014:Guided walk from Robin Hood gate car park (open to everyone)

Our free guided walks do not need to be booked ahead, except where indicated. Most (but not all) begin at 10am and finish around midday at the car park or gate shown. Please keep dogs under control. To double check dates or meeting points, or if you need special help or support, contactPeter Burrows-Smith (peterburrows-smith1@virginmedia.com) or consult the Park notice boards.

(*) All courses start at Pembroke Lodge at 10am. Friends only, booking required, contact Sue on 0208 940 9114 or sue.gibbons@npl.co.uk. The courses are 30 minutes talk indoors followed by a 2 hour walk. Coffee/tea provided.

Where else would you get to see a horse drawn lawn mower?

A fairy shaky shot taken from the car with my Iphone (no I wasn’t driving!) whilst driving through Richmond Park today.  I hope he isn’t planning on mowing the whole park 🙂

The Friends of Richmond Park organize walks through our wonderful Royal Park, please find below details and links to get further information as per their information….

Walks and Courses 2014

Guided walks are offered on the first Saturday of each month, as well as on some additional dates listed below.  These are FREE to both member and non members.  They also offer a wide range of bookable courses for members only.

Walks

All walks start at 10am from the designated car park unless detailed otherwise.  They take approximately 2hrs, well behaved dogs on leads are welcomed as are children. (not on leads though!) – distance is approximately 2 miles but not exact.

Sat 7th June – Sheen Gate car park

Sat 5th July – Pembroke Lodge car park

Sat 12th July – SUMMER EVENING WALK Sheen Gate car park , 8pm

Sat 2nd August – Kingston Gate car park

Sat 6th September – AUTUMN BIRD WALK Sheen Gate car park

Sat 4th October – Sheen Gate car park

Sat 1st November – Pembroke Lodge car park

Fri 26th December – BOXING DAY WALK Roehampton Gate car park

Courses

10am start with a short talk at Pembroke Lodge followed by a walk.  Friends members only.  Booking essential, contact Sue on 020 9409114 or sue.gibbons@npl.co.uk

Refreshments provided – courses consist of approximately 30 minutes talk, break then 2hrs course time.

There is a brand new Pink Ribbon Walk at Hampton Court Palace

The walks will be within the grounds on the banks of the River Thames, the routes taking in the very best of the Hampton Court Palace Estate, Royal Parks and Thames Path.

Brief details for participants:

20 mile route

Average walking time: 6 to 9.5 hours including rest stops

10 mile route

Average walking time: 3 to 5 hours including rest stops

Where

It starts and finishes in the grounds of Hampton Court Palace which is a 200m walk across the bridge from Hampton Court Railway Station.

When

20 mile route
8.30am – arrive
9.15am – warm-up
9:30 – walk starts

10 mile route
11am – arrive
11.45am – warm-up
12 noon – walk starts

Parking

We recommend you use public transport as there’s currently no parking allocated for Pink Ribbonwalk participants.
